Research
Small-molecule protein degraders, such as Proteolysis Targeting Chimeras (PROTACs) and Molecular Glue Degraders (MGDs), are promising disease therapeutic modalities. They induce the degradation of disease relevant proteins by bringing them in close proximity to E3 ligases. The Liu lab aims to discover novel protein degraders ultilizing new and interdisciplinary techniques in chemistry and biology.
The Liu lab is currently pursuing research projects in
1. Identifying new E3 ligase ligands.
2. Discovering new E3 ligase based molecule glues.
3. Developing new proximity based biochemical assays for the characterization and discovery of proximity-inducing agents.
